How to use this sheet

- Deciding which operation the words are asking for — that's where most kids get stuck, not the arithmetic.
- · Have them read it out loud first. Skipped words cause more wrong answers than bad maths.
- · If the number-sentence line is empty and only the answer is filled in, do that one together again.
- · Stuck? Tell the same story with smaller numbers and they'll usually see it.
